Students numbering over sixty, preparing for their examination, were abruptly stopped from continuing their examination following a report of Boko Haram insurgency taking over Uwheru community in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.

The lingering crisis which has engulfed the entire Uwheru community took another dimension when two brothers, Anigboro-Brorhie Divine Oghenebrukevwe and Anigboro-Brorhie Destiny Ogheneorhome, had a terrible experience while going to write exams in a neighboring community.
It was learnt that in June 2021, prior to the period of the examination, there had been reports of an attack by Boko Haram in a remote Uwheru community that had claimed several lives and properties set on fire.
According to Mr. Nelson Aduba, a student and exam acquaintance, he was traveling to the examination center with Divine and Destiny when they saw corpses lying by the roadside.
Aduba said the body was disemboweled, with a pool of blood at the scene, while people were seen gathered around the victims, screaming after having witnessed how people were maimed and killed in cold blood.
According to Aduba, it was at that point, Divine and Destiny had to call their parents to inform them of the situation, and their parents immediately advised them to ignore the exams and return home for their safety.
Aduba said on their way back home, the tricycle driver encountered serious traffic that held them down for over thirty minutes while moving slowly along the road.
While on the road, they saw several men who appeared to be members of Boko Haram with machine guns firing shots into the air and dragging people out of their vehicles and torturing them until the police arrived in the area and the Boko Haram members fled.
