Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon (Chief) Solomon Ighrakpata has felicitated with the State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori on his Supreme Court victory.
The former Lawmaker in his reaction on the Friday’s Supreme Court ruling on the Delta Governorship election, said the ultimate winner of the legal battles were the people of Delta State.
Ighrakpata who said the ruling of the Supreme Court was a further affirmation of the mandate given to Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwore by Deltans, stated that even the litigants knew the Governor won the election in landslide.
He however appreciated the three litigants, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Chief Kenneth Gbagi and Ken Pela, for chosen a legal means to address their grievances, which he said was normal in democratic rule.
The IRS Chairman advised that with litigation over, all must join hands to support the development process of Delta State which Governor Sheriff Oborevrwori is set to achieve for Deltans.
“I congratulate His Excellency, the capacity Governor of Delta State for this well deserved victory today at the nation’s Apex Court in Abuja.
“I was at the court hall, I listened to the rulings. I must commend the Supreme Court Justices for the detailed judgment in the three cases on the Delta gubernatorial election.
“My advice to my three brothers from Delta Central is to congratulate another of our brother, Sheriff Oborevwori who God has chosen this time to govern Delta State.
“ We must all support him to succeed. His success is our success. His MORE agenda captures his development plans for the state in the next four years. Every stakeholder must be part of the development process”, Ighrakpata stated.
The former member of the State Assembly who represented Uvwie Constituency, also felicitated with the entire people of Delta State for the peaceful end of the 2023 gubernatorial race in the state.
Ighrakpata emphasized that the state is in a safe hands as the state government was determined to sustain its socio-economic growth in the state.
