… Says Isoko Ex-Agitators Will Protects Oil Facilities, Dialogue With FG, Surveillance Contractors, Others

Reacting to an ultimatum and threat issued on some National dailies and Online video currently trending by a group of youths that claims to be ex-militants and threatening to blow up pipelines in Isoko if the federal government does not recognized them in the recent surveillance contract awarded to Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo by Monday, October 10, 2022, leaders of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators in Isoko nation has disclaimed and denied the existence of such groups in Isoko, describing them as faceless criminals hiding under the umbrella’s of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators.
Speaking with Journalists on Sunday, members of the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators led by their patron, General Julius Omoyibo, General Joseph Okor, Chairman and General Randy Ogaga, spokesman, warned such persons impersonating with the groups name to desist from such act, noting that if they want to fight a just cause they should come out boldly with their known name and stop hiding under the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators.
“When Asari Dokubo was not pleased with the contract and other groups, they came out publicly and not hiding under any one”.
The group stated unequivocally that they are not part of such threat and ultimatums issued with their name, and will not allow anyone to bring their name to the mud.
“We are here to disclaimed the recent newspaper publications and an Online video which has gone viral. We are not part of such group and they are not known to us as members of the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators and we are not connected to any of such publications.
We as Ex-Agitators will not allow the sweat of our people to be sabotaged by criminal elements hiding under a reputable group such as ours. We have farmlands and and other valuable eco-system that stand the chances of destruction should such faceless disgruntled elements carry out their threats, they warned”.
The group however assured the government of their preparedness to protect all oil facilities in Isoko land from attack, adding that they are firmly on ground to ward off such sabotage.
While condemning such threat and ultimatums, spokesman of the group, General Randy Ogaga maintained that the Isoko chapter of the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators believed on dialoguing, and cannot stoop to that level of destroying vital economic and natural facilities, noting that they are not part of such statements of threat and cannot be part.
General Ogaga and General Julius Omoyibo respectively, appealed to all aggrieved Isoko youths to be calm and patient.
“We understand your grievances. Up till now, the surveillance job has not been shared, but be calm and patient as it will definitely come”.
They both further disclosed that the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators are following the means of dialogue to reach out to the contractor, Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and asked all aggrieved youths to desist from acts of violence that will become a witch hunt to the people.
“Whenever we have grievances, we ensure we follow due process and thread the path of peaceful resolution by way of writing to the DSS, Police, Army and other relevant authorities. We are doing everything possible to ensure Isoko nation is well and fully recognized in the surveillance job”.
The group said, should they blow up any pipeline, it will have a heavier and damaging effects on the people and their economic source of livelihoods.
