Nigeria President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike to fasten the completion of the Abuja Metroline to ease movements of residents and asked the minister not to give him free land should he ask for one.
Tinubu made this intention known on Sunday, while declaring open the annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) where he jokingly referred to Wike as the ‘landlord of Abuja’.
Tinubu said; ’I want to ride on your metroline. If I ask for free land, do not give me, but deliver the metroline for the good of the greatest number of Nigerians.’
It would be recalled that during an inspection tour of Abuja last week, Wike promised that the Abuja rail mass transit would be completed in eight months time.
Wike was not happy at the state of the rail system, promising to address the transportation challenges in the Federal Capital Territory.
