Uwheru youths in Ughelli North Local Government area of Delta state, have backtracked on a recent negative media publication against the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, describing the said publication as a product of misinformation and youth ignorance.
Recalled that few days ago, the youths in a public statement issued by one Hon. Umukoro Oghenevwarhe, and published in various print and Online medium, accusing Prof. Muoboghere of double standard in the allocation of job slots to the kingdom as well as heading an alleged cabal of political leaders who were allegedly responsible for the backwardness of the kingdom.
However, in another statement issued on Friday, October 15, 2021, by the same Hon. Umukoro Oghenevwarhe, maintained that the public statement as published was due to misinformation and youth ignorance.
The statement reads, “I want to use this medium to apologise to Prof. Patrick Muoboghare over the publication issued against him. It was done out of ignorance and misinformation. I have come to realise the true positions of things, and now know that it is not what I have assumed.
“I have decided to come out publicly to make this apology without any duress or intimidation by anybody but for the simple fact that I went public to make a statement against someone of great personality which statement has turned out to be false. I believe as a responsible child, it is the right thing to do. You cannot publicly shame a man and goes behind to apologised to him.
“Prof. Muoboghare is my father and leader, I was hasty in my decision to go public with such issue without due investigation or hearing from him. Although I tried to reach him over the issue but the people around him would not allow me, but I still believe with a little patience, I would have gotten the truth. Once again, I’m sorry.”
